  1. Nice job on trying out Haiku deck - I love this tool as it is designed to be so visual and the images are readily available already CC filtered. Of course, it's benefit is to capitalize on the image as opposed to lots of text, so great when you can add audio to it as a presentation.

    Online classes do require a different mindset as there are skills - like self-discipline, time management, independent learning, etc - that are not always used in a face-to-face classroom. I personally think they are usually more challenging because of the focus on multi-modal learning content chunks and assessments - however, that also often translates to longer-lasting learning in the sense of deeper learning, which is our ultimate goal.

    Yes, those virtual field trips and tools for using the web are so awesome - that's why we can so easily get lost on the internet! :) The time to plan for good lessons will always be demanding - whether WebQuests or not - but the difference is not only the end goal of student learning, but also the fact that if you create an effective lesson one year, it will usually stand the test of time and need very little review/tweaking for future years, so you are 'paying it forward'! :)
