Nice use of mindmapping tool - you also discovered Kid Pix, which I remember from 15 or so years ago and glad to see it held its own in this changing landscape of creativity tools. It is a good one. :)
As a gamer, you have so much more opportunity to transition those thinking and strategizing skills to 'real world'. I think they will play a larger role in the future classrooms. I am particularly interested in the games that allow students to create their scenarios, make their own decisions (and deal with the consequences), etc., but I also wonder if even some of the gamification (vocabulary for rewards, levels, etc) wouldn't help in the transition from "play" to "real world" skills.
